Hi all,
After trying basically everything to get my video-batteries back to work, I found out my batteries carry a logic fuse on the PCB (and I found out the laptop-batteries I dis-assembled for the cells so far, do too)
After (temporarily) bridging this fuse, the BQ20Z65 woke up and started charging AND could be discharged again.
I'm now in the process of trying to acquire these fuses...
For those interested, a few pictures:

The V90RM PCB with a test-battery made from second-hand laptop-cells (just for testing, no full charge or discharge would be done with these) with the CP2112 adapter connected to the SMbus pins of the BQZ65 ready to be connected to the PC.
